April 2, 2026—CFISD staff, students, community members and business partners gathered at the Berry Center and Cy-Fair FCU Stadium for the 12th Superintendent’s Fun Run on March 28. The fundraiser concluded with CFISD and Memorial Hermann Cypress Hospital representatives presenting a check worth $95,000 to the Cy-Fair Educational Foundation (CFEF).

The event featured a 5K run and 1-mile family-friendly walk/run. The 5K course featured a route through Towne Lake and Lone Star College—CyFair. The 1-mile family walk path wound through the walkways of Cy-Fair FCU Stadium and featured high school inflatable tunnels on the field and spirit teams and groups encouraging participants.

Sponsor and vendor booths, food trucks, a children’s play area and student performances made the day special for all event guests.

“This year’s Fun Run was a phenomenal event,” said Dr. Doug Killian, CFISD superintendent of schools. “Thanks to all the participants, volunteers, donors and students, we were able to raise $95,000 towards scholarships for our students. I am so thankful to be involved in such an amazing community event with such great support for our students.”

The event drew approximately 5,000 total race participants. In addition, more than 3,000 registered for the sleep-in pass, which allowed an option for those who wanted to support the CFEF but were unable to attend.

Approximately 5,000 registered race participants, both young and old, took part in the 12th Superintendent’s Fun Run on March 28 at the Berry Center. “Our 12th Superintendent’s Fun Run truly showed why CFISD is on The Path to Amazing,” said Dawn Tryon, director of community engagement. “We had 80 business partners and thousands of community members, employees, parents and students all together to not only participate in a fun-filled community event, but to also support student scholarships through the CFEF. We are thrilled to have presented a $95,000 check to the CFEF to help support our seniors at the next stop on their educational path.”
